Ultimate Languages has now been in business for 14 months’ so we thought now is the ideal time for you all to meet our current team. It’s a fact that we are a woman-owned business, and so far we are all women but that’s not to say that things won’t change…
I thought the best way to introduce everyone would be to have a bit of fun, so I sent each of them the same three questions and asked them to answer them as briefly as possible. You never know one day these questions may be relevant.
As this is my blog, I am going to start with myself.

Amanda, Resource Manager
I have been with Ultimate Languages since day one, 10th April 2018, this was a very scary day as no-one had any idea of how this was going to turn out but here we are; still going strong and having a blast. It is my responsibility to recruit and maintain the database of all our lovely freelance vendors along with all the administrative tasks and credit control.
- If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?
- A big knife
- Matches or a lighter something to help make a fire with
- A decent cookbook
- If you could be in the film of your choice, what film would you choose and what character would you play?
- Annie in the film Annie, as she is a bit of a loveable rebel
- What is the most memorable holiday you’ve taken?
- Morocco, we really pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones and caught buses around everywhere with the locals. We went to the markets and up the mountains and met so many lovely, friendly people. To top it all off it was over the Christmas period Santa came to visit on Christmas day on his camel!
Heather, Founder and Senior Project Manager
Heather is the most experienced of our team and the founder of Ultimate Languages Ltd, Heather has been in the translation sector for over 20 years and is a mind of useful information – if she doesn’t know the answer then it’s not worth knowing. Heather mostly works alongside our clients in the mechanical engineering, manufacturing and chemical sectors.
- If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?
- Chocolate – life’s not worth living without it 😊
- Someone with a gun to protect me
- A WIFI signal
- If you could be in the film of your choice, what film would you choose and what character would you play?
- Stuart Little – the mouse
- What is the most memorable holiday you’ve taken?
- Not exactly a holiday, but I spent a month in Sweden when at university. What made it particularly memorable for me was that there were many people on the course from behind the Iron Curtain (this shows my age I know!). For instance, I remember the Russians couldn’t quite believe that in the free afternoons you could go anywhere you liked, no questions asked. And I sadly think of Ivan from Czechoslovakia who played the guitar but couldn’t get hold of Beatles music because it was banned. This made a big impression on me as a young student.

Enifa, Certified Localization Project Manager
Enifa joined Ultimate Languages in January 2019, as a Project Manager. Before joining Ultimate Enifa took some time out to help her family in starting up a new cafe business in Sheffield. It is definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area. Enifa also works alongside our clients in the travel, tourism and hospitality sector and helps with clients in the mechanical engineering, manufacturing and chemical sectors.
- If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?
- A knife for protection and also food if I am there for a while
- A giant wind up flashlight because…. I don’t like the dark!
- A satellite phone to call for help when I get bored!
- If you could be in the film or TV series of your choice, what would you choose and what character would you play?
- Game of Thrones – Arya Stark
- What is the most memorable holiday you’ve taken?
- Turkey 2010 – Black Sea. The people are amazing, the food is brilliant, and the smell of the sea is something special. Came back home a stone heavier though! 😊

Yolanda, Project Manager
Yolanda is our newest project manager, joining Ultimate in March 2019. She is also the youngest member of the team. Yolanda works in Galicia and again she works under our Spanish umbrella. Along with being a project manager Yolanda is working alongside Emily and looking after the growth of the business and our Social Media.

Emily oversees all our sales and marketing, working alongside operations to ensure that we grow at a steady and healthy pace. Emily also looks after our social media to make sure we have the right amount of visibility.

Isabella, Managing Director
The latest of our new starters is Isabella who joined us in March 2019 as our new Managing Director. Although she is originally from Rome, Isabella has been in the UK for over twenty years and she has been in the industry for over thirty years. I have personally known Isabella since 2008, meeting a few years after she started her first agency. Isabella has brought with her so many fresh new ideas and already, within this short period of time, the business has moved in a stronger direction and we are all excited to see what happens next.
- If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?
- Alfie *
- Swiss knife
- Ted Baker sunglasses
*Alfie is the cockapoo that belongs to the owners of the business next door to us. We do see a lot of Alfie as he comes to see us all the time. He even has his very own jar of treats (and he knows where we keep it!) and it won’t be long before he has his own bed 😊
- If you could be in the film or tv series of your choice, what would you choose, and what character would you play?
- Definitely Ally McBeal and well of course! Ally McBeal!
- What is the most memorable holiday you’ve taken?
- I haven’t taken it yet! It is the October road trip to California
And there we have it! We hope this gives you a better idea of who we are, what we do and how we think. We pride ourselves on being a friendly, approachable, professional and somewhat quirky bunch.
Don’t just take my word for it though! Here’s a video of us in action when the wonderful Lucia and Yolanda last visited the office.
Now you know more about us, we can’t wait to get to know you better too!
